Project Notes: This 1-story wood framed fire station for a small California community featured 3 distinctive wings, all at different diaphragm elevations, requiring special attention to transferring heavy seismic loads through shear posts and other continuity elements.  The apparatus bay featured standard special moment frames, with design forces amplified to meet the appropriate risk category for essential structures.
